    Recently, students and teachers from E.P.A.L. Kato Achaia had the pleasure of visiting the Enervillas autonomous energy buildings in Aliki Achaia. Just recently, the founder and builder of Enervillas, Dimitris Dimopoulos, was awarded at the "PASSIEXPO 2018: The road to nZEB" 4th Panhellenic Conference on Passive Building. He received official certification as the first passive premium accommodation in Europe. Mr. Dimitris Dimopoulos elaborated on the visit: "Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from E.P.A.L. who were truly thirsty for knowledge, along with their well-trained teachers. With the interest they showed and the questions they asked, they proved that the future of Greece is bright. We talked about energy savings in buildings and how it can be achieved. We performed a depressurization door test in combination with a thermal camera, we talked about ventilation and energy recovery, window frames, thermal bridges, and building orientation." The Xenia - Greece Tourism Exhibition, which saw more than 25,000 visitors from all over Greece, took place from November 27 to 29, 2021. During the panel discussion, Dimopoulos shared his insights on the first passive house premium hotel in Greece, located in Kato Alissos, which he had designed. He highlighted the key features of the hotel, which was built with the latest in sustainable building technologies and materials, and discussed how these features contributed to the hotel's energy efficiency and overall sustainability. Demopoulos stressed the importance of sustainable design in the hospitality industry, particularly as the sector continues to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasized the need for hoteliers and other stakeholders to invest in sustainable infrastructure and technologies, not only to reduce their carbon footprint but also to appeal to the growing number of eco-conscious travelers.
